This is the type of series I enjoy the most.
When a Great Blue Heron either lands or takes off they spread those huge wings and all the various layers of feathers display. The wing has three lengths that flow like a cape.
This series was taken as a Heron flew along the edge of a marsh and made a soft landing right in front of me.
I was positioned to capture the glide in and then the upright wing spread to slow down into a standing landing.
This was a great opportunity, better I was able to catch an entire series.
