The lower sun dilemma on display. I had forgotten about it…hasn’t been a problem with the cold and clouds.

Glare is a problem for more than the photographers. Wading birds struggle too.

At a low angle the suns direct light means birds can’t see under the surface very well. Catching food is difficult and requires either brute force or tricks.

The Great Blues just stab at what may be a shadow. Smaller birds run or fly along the surface to stir up fish below.
