Once the sun is up for a while, and the first hunt of the day is complete, the Pelicans move off to the hidden places out here.
This day last week was different. Just the opposite in fact.
There was a constant in bound stream of White Pelicans.
Sometimes it was one or two. Small flocks from further out spots came in too.
These big birds are fun to watch as they ‘gracefully’ land.
For the most part we had been hiding from winter weather, which is funny considering Ellen’s from the winter wonderland of Maine. This was good timing for us to find the warm coats and get back out.
Disclaimer; I wore a coat for about an hour, typical Lowcountry weather.
