The whole scene here was a deep blue.
I found this small heron walking along the edge of the rice field behind the Magnolia Plantation garden area.

This spot is dark, shadow covered. If there is any wind or water flow the dead marsh grass and reeds are pushed here. This makes a great place for small fish and ‘creepy crawly’ things that the small wading birds love.


The heron was a deep slate, normal for breeding times, early now though. I’m not sure if the water / shade reflected up and effected the birds color in the camera.
