This Spoonbill was working the water just below me in the cut. A few minutes earlier he flew in and was being a Spoonbill just at the minimum of my lens length no matter how I tried to hang back.
Finally he gave me a chance for a shot. The old ‘hop, skip, and a jump’ move.

Luck was with me and I didn’t cut off his wings when started.

Those big pink wings are like a sail used to slow down.

After landing a few meters from where he started, back to fishing.
It was a little dark and wet, but this is why they are so much fun to photo.
