This tree top has become the lookout spot for local Red-shouldered Hawks. They can see everywhere and it’s completely surrounded by wetlands.
The last few days I have waited for a closer look, but this is the spot they want. Not getting closer so I took the shot.

It is a pretty long shot yet as soon as I began shooting the bird looked right at me. Ellen also commented on how they must be able to hear the sound of the high speed shutter.

It’s early on so I’m not sure if they have started nesting. When they do the shots will be much better.
