Something good came of my forced site maintenance. I came across this photograph from probably 2015.
This is the Saybrook Light on the Long Island Sound. It was a Blood Moon. Ellen was the driving force on this. We had to find a location, a safe place for the car, and finally walk the breakers to a good location.

It came out better than I expected, especially given my lack of enthusiasm about breaking my neck in the dark.
It’s an absolutely beautiful shot
Thank you. One of those times when things all align. Huge moon, found a spot to get that lighthouse and breakers, and I didn’t mess up. Moon shots are not high on my list.
W🤩w!! This is an art poster I would love to own — thank you for risking your neck (golly!!) to get this truly outstanding image. You and Ellen are intrepid.
Thanks so much. It was a great location and the right time.
Beautiful find!
Everything worked out that night. 😂.
Really like the composition – almost like the Gotham bat signal!
😁😁. The Light is on a long jetty in the Long Island Sound. This is the Connecticut side, facing New York. The Sound is one of the areas with the most old Lighthouses. At some point we photographed them all, even from a private plane. This was probably around 2014.
