The first Wood Stork of the day, and I had plenty of time to focus and follow him. That’s what caused the problem I guess, too much time. I followed him right into the sun and grabbed a single shot in flight. However, I heard him and found him again.

I’m not sure who did the squawking.

The Wood Stork landed next to a Black Vulture. I assume it was not the Vulture, I think they just ‘hiss’.

So I salvaged the series, or rather the stork did.
Nice comparison shot – gives you a good feel for just how big those storks are.
We were at a rookery (Spoonbill) and some came in. I got a few shots but they didn’t stay very long. I’ve had them land very close and it’s shocking how tall they are.
