Most publishing have been from the marshes. The swamps are busy too though. This is Great Blue Heron time! My favorite season.

The males have claimed the best spots and the deep hoarse calls can be heard from quite a distance.

After a long call this male does a little ‘mating bow’ hoping to catch some attention. They don’t have the moves of an Egret, but it’s not a bad dance for a big guy.
