Egrets are known for wading through water and striking quickly for a fish. They have another trick, hovering over a swamp and diving down to grab prey. I don’t see it often but today this was the method of choice, by dozens of Egrets.

This bird did a dive directly in front of me first thing this morning.
The most active part of the swamp early today faced into the sun. The bird came down from the glare and splashed down into the swamp.

I don’t know if he caught anything, the shots were a struggle and these were the best of the lot.
No great award winners, but a fun interesting capture.
These Egrets are caught my attention. Thanks Anita
Beautiful light!
Taking advantage of sunrise…right in my face 🤣.
Great Ted!
Spanish Moss and sun were in my face but just enough open space for these shots. Thanks.
