This is one of the Cypress trees that line the swamp, and are scattered throughout the various islands/hammocks. Upper branches are home to nesting Egrets and Herons.
Early morning, or sundown, birds actively move through area. A good spot, with an open view, can give plenty of opportunities like this.

It’s best to get your photos early in the breeding season. Soon the branches will leaf out and Spanish Moss drapes along those open spots.
