We always have these Teals around, we also always have those same Teals down the far side of the swamp. The far side is a long shot even with a decent lens.
This bird left the safety of the flocks to hang around the shallow corner with the Great Blues.

The Herons were busy searching for nesting materials leaving plenty of spots for the Teal to sit.

When at this swamp the trail here gives a nice clear view that we try to spend time at. Years ago someone placed two old building cinder blocks and boards on the swamps edge here for a place to sit. I’ve been known to risk a few ‘splinters’ waiting for an opportunity like this one.

Thank you. They are fairly common in the southern US. Shy and hard to photo.
Ah, the little guys (and gals) of the water. Definitely a lot of those around, although they like to hide amongst the Coots out here.
Here they mix with the other ducks.
