A few random Great Egret shots taken on a recent morning. I tried to count the number of Egret nests yesterday in the rookery. Too many, scattered all around.

Most of these were taken at the mouth of a trail entering the swamp. I didn’t need to walk in very far at all. That helps since this time of year the rising sun is in your face across the swamp.

The last shot here was a little further down from the others. This bird was standing on the edge of the first island. Not a place I like to see them, the interior of the island is where the ‘big guys’ go to hide.

This morning (3/14) the dawn looked pretty. Ellen is off in the swamp now hopefully getting a few more shots like this. Life, things to do, get in the way sometimes but maybe Ellen will come back with a treasure.
