This hawk was in our local swamp, in the usual area. However I thought he was very quiet. Red-shoulders are a noisy lot. Ellen found him in the tree line facing the open water.


I was able to walk a little and slightly change my angel before he left us.

Ellen watched where he had gone and it wasn’t that far down the trees. A few minutes later we again found him.
This side of the swamp is a common spot for them to find small lizards and frogs. At least two pair nest nearby most years.
