I think this was an escape from sitting on a nest all morning. She flew down from a tall nest and landed on a stand alone Cypress.

At one time there were nests in this tree, which was great since it’s close to a trail and wide open for photographs. No longer used for nesting it is still a common spot for the large birds to rest on.
