A few newcomers to the neighborhood.
Whistling Ducks have slowly moved north with the warming climate. To me it seems the movement has become faster. Not long ago, maybe 4 years, they were rare to see even in the Basin. They have moved into the swamps around Charleston.
This was taken on a foggy morning. I was looking for hawks out over the swamp, instead a small group of Whistlers was perched out there.

A large and pretty duck, that actually does whistle.

I always thought fog was bad for bird photography but you have changed my mind. Your foggy photos are fabulous!!!
