The far side of this swamp, the open water area, has a few larger islands. There’s no access to any islands here so they are popular places to nest, for all types of wading birds.

The trees and brush are getting thick with spring growth. However, you can see activity if you look through open areas in the green. That’s how I spotted these two Great Egret rearranging their nest.


There’s a lot of poking and pushing while waiting for the next adventure to hatch.
