Not like there was all that much I could do about the fog. Besides, for the locals that live in the swamp it’s just there and they go about life.

So I went with it, walked, and found things, like any other day.

Above the Grackles were wandering around gathering Spanish Moss for the nests. There was a surprising number of them too. More than I usually see.

Great Blue Herons in the nests didn’t change anything either. Shooting up towards the rising sun I was able to get a little glow.

Egrets in their lower nests were drenched as if it rained.

Heron chicks are still too young to figure out anything yet. Mom and food is about it. At this stage the adults leave them for extended times to hunt. Not the safest thing but I have seen them be surprisingly aggressive when in danger at this age.

And last, he likes fog for obvious reasons, makes him invisible.

It turned out the heavy fog was a positive. Gave me something different to deal with.
