The wooden ramps are usually occupied by somebody. In this case it was a Great Egret.
Sooner or later an Alligator will climb up and claim it, until then it could be almost anything.

What was the ramp for in the first place?
Alligators 😂😂😂. At one time it was thought placing swamp ramps would keep the gators away from any trails or other places they might meet people. However, all it did was give them more choices 😂😂.

The ramps are getting crowded. This swamp has gotten larger yet no new ramps around. The last ramps added, years ago, was so far above the water no Turtles or Alligators ever climbed on.
