I think this shot appealed to me because it was flat, not much color or contrasts. This is how it looked, we can’t get great light and colors out there all the time.
Viewed large you can see he was keeping an eye on me while passing.

Most times they are very calm. Very easy to photograph as long as you remember they are predators.
