Basically a snap shot taken in passing.

The Ashley is not a very long river. It starts out as a trickle just north west of Charleston. As it winds through the marshes is does get wider near the old plantations. Ultimately it separates the city of Charleston S.C. peninsular from the mainland.

Right here it was the highway for commerce for the old rice plantations.
