This Egret has been walking, and fishing, on the other side of an open pond. I was getting photos but I knew they were most likely blown out (and they were). Here it’s dark in one spot, bright sun in another. Camera settings are a best guess type of thing.

When the Great Egret decided it was time to go further along, the flight was through a nice balanced light.

You can see it went from dark to light, but thankfully no extremes.
