The tide was going out, the water flowing through the dike. That’s the time fish are moving. It’s also the time an Egret will claim is spot for the hunt.
This bird was not wanting to move. I actually agreed with him. However, this dike is single car width dirt road too. I needed to walk by him, at least twice.


The first time I passed he squawked and flew over to a marsh tree waiting for me to pass. He came right back.
During the time I was on the road we reached an agreement. He stayed, I moved by ignoring him, and it worked out for a large number of photos. He did OK too since I saw him drop down on the water and grab something.
