Great Egret in a slow and steady pass over a swamp.
The bird was along the edge of the open water when I first walked on to the trail. I try to spend some time quietly standing among the Cypress trees watching to see just what may be happening. More than once I have stumbled on, and scared a group of birds or found a gator between the big tree trunks.
Watching for a bit can produce a few opportunities, like this, I could have easily missed.
