French Quarter Street Views

The charm of the Charleston SC French Quarter is just off the main streets.

The old buildings, alleys and interesting architecture make it easy to take a small lens, light camera, and just explore.

A busy tourist spot is the ‘rainbow houses’, a street of buildings all in vibrant southern colors. The photo above is not that famous street, yet the colors were still everywhere.

And of course I had to include another shot of the fascinating windows found in the quarter.

Barred Owl In Flight

This is a series of a Barred Owl taking flight, dropping from a large branch.  The bird had flown there after being released by her handler at The Center For Birds Of Prey. Each image documents the wing motions of an owl in flight.

Not a single sound is made by the wings.

I was standing between the owl and her handler when she decided to come down from the tree.

These were photographed at 500mm, 1/1000 second, 10 shots per second.
