A change of pace, for both me and the web site.
The perfect location for my backup camera and shorter lens. The combination works well.

This is one of the first shots I took at the Avian Conservancy a few days ago.
Three handlers introduced a few raptors to visitors. The Lanier Falcon above is wearing the traditional jesses (anklet ties) to allow the handler to keep the bird close.
A Lanier is a smaller falcon typically called a ‘Lady Bird’. In early falconry noble women owned Lanier’s or perhaps a Kestrel.
The falcon above was not comfortable with children, the primary makeup of the audience. After a little while she was returned to her area.
I took some many photographs of this bird the other day I decided to try an old style sepia photograph on one.
The bokeh and light background allowed the Vulture to stand out.
St. Helena Chapel of Ease, Fripp family mausoleum.
Abandoned in 1861, burned in 1868.
Little Blue Heron against the swamp waters.

Every failing Main Street has at least one, Bail Bonds for the court system.
Share space with the Lawyer, even have a contest of some sort.
Just an interesting image.
In color this was much too muddy and dark brown. Contrast and light in B&W gave it a new look.
Another reason this shot has the deep contrasts is drama. The Alligator is an apex predator, king of the hill so to speak. You want him to look the part.
Sometimes they just need a little help.
Taken a few weeks ago while out exploring.
All dressed up for the Memorial Day weekend.
