Watching Me, Barred Owl

At the time I shot this I was  wondering how he moved across the swamp without me seeing him.

I moved for this position and took my shot, as I noticed how he did the tricky move.

He didn’t. I noticed his mate fly silently while I focused on him. Owls make no sound when flying, their wings are designed that way. I have had them move right behind and never knew it until I turned.

Owl, Frog, And A Cypress Tree

I was trying to find an open spot with no branches when this Owl dropped down into the water. Of course it was the far side of the cypress tree. I was able to circle around to get between a few large bushes for this shot.

It was dark so I did not see the Bull Frog at first.

It was a great spot for me to photograph given the cypress tree roots, swamp water, and reflections. A little more light would have been good, but Owls usually are not that accommodating.
