A few shoots of a very cooperative Brown Pelican.

Above is the ‘coveted’ wing tip photograph. The tip just brushing the waters surface.

Yellow-billed Kite, feeding and exercise.
Yellow-billed Kites are from Southern Africa, but have the same feeding habits as my local Mississippi and Swallow-tailed Kites. They catch prey, and eat it, in flight.
Here feeding is done by tossing small pieces of meat high in the air, the bird must catch it to eat. He doesn’t miss very often.
Red-tailed Hawk, but there are 14 different sub-species. A common name is simply a ‘Redtail’ or ‘Chicken Hawk’, which is an old time description best as I can tell.
This one was on the ground when Ellen spotted him. He flew up and made two quick stops then was gone.
No time for anything but these shots.
Around here these are pretty big raptors and easily get confused with young Bald Eagles.
