Perhaps too early to shoot, but a flock of White Pelicans counts for something. Besides, in the background are Great Blue Herons, and a Spoonbill.

Marsh Birds, First Light
Early morning, a little rain hiding most of the light.
Spoonbills feeding and working around a White Pelican.
Follow The Birds
They are there for a reason.

Crowd At A Swamp
This is best viewed on a large screen. Actually it only looks good on a large screen ! The image has been diffused to soften and spread the light out.
I find it interesting, but question the concept and results. Perhaps another love/hate type photograph.
American Avocets In A Marsh
Two birds in the marsh area. Both with different lighting and post processing highlights.
Morning At A Marsh

Around Town, Charleston
These photographs are a few more from my wanderings around town. Charleston, South Carolina, is still the old southern city most people expect when they visit.
It’s the little things that give a place charm.
Homes on the small side streets still light the front with gas lamps.
Old water fountains are still running in some places by the harbor.
This is a town of old narrow streets and alleys.
Art galleries, and resident artists, have been part of Charleston for many years. The number of skilled fine art photographers here can be intimidating. I told someone not long ago they would need their ‘A Game’ to shoot around here.
A person can spend a long time walking through town exploring and never see the same thing twice. OK, maybe not. The alley’s can get confusing, going in circles is still fun.
