We didn’t see him until after we had been walking around shooting in the grass. No harm, but a good warning to us because it was closer than it should have been.

However we did get some nice clear images. The colors and layers of scales are very nice.

These are three shots at different distances. The one above as close as was wise.

Even a Cottonmouth will avoid any contact. Obviously that was a good thing.
