Moving slowly close to the bank was the Alligator. Everything is greenish muck so he fit right in.

I realized he was crawling, not swimming, when I saw a few claws break the surface. Their claws are even longer than you would imagine.

Standing near when the walk or crawl is different than swimming. It somehow puts them closer to you.

He never came over the bank. Like others I think he was curious about me standing there.
