Found on a walk.
I’m sure at some point these were planted here. This property is owned by Magnolia Plantation. The previous biologist here would have fits when out walking the grounds and finding nonnative plants.
In various, often odd, places flowers like these show up. Some are from seeds the local birds distribute, others are just there looking pretty.
A flower I had completely forgotten about. This is a late fall bloomer in the swamps here.
One of the first shots of a Heron for that morning and he shows up in a bed of Swamp Daisy.

Charleston, South Carolina.
Colors were so much different than anything else in the swamp.
Here are two lily’s that were part of a trip we took a week or so ago.
There was a large number of plants and the number of variations were surprising, to me.
Sumter, South Carolina.
I won’t even try to describe anything here.
Let the colors tell the story.
Noticed this in passing on a walk.
Small flowers but bright and different.
This time of year Fritillary and Cone flowers are out and about everywhere. For the most part I pass them by, only because I use long lens and getting them in focus requires walking ‘away’ from them.
