No more than 3 feet (1 meter) give or take. You can see the baby markings on his shoulder, spotted colors.
On this trail you must watch where you step. Juvenile Alligators (a few adults) will crawl out of the swamp to dry and get warm in a sunny spot. The other day one did just that (a little bigger than here) while I was standing…in his spot.
When we walk by it’s a habit to point and click. Most images never see the light, but it’s fun anyway.
