A small ‘teenager size’ here, perhaps 2 – 3 years old. This age they are still vulnerable to larger Alligators. And it’s a bad time of year to let your guard down.

It’s mating season and a few minutes before I took this a large bull was roaming around, patrolling the swamp very fast.
I watched the large bull stalk a few smaller, probably females, with intent. When Alligators attack others, for whatever reason, it’s usually under water. There was a lot of fast dives and huge splashing going on.
The waters edge and green algae had a bunch of heads and eyes watching carefully today.
