This is one of a group, juvenile Green Herons, that were all around us one day.

The adult colors are still a little off here.

Rather than leave quickly the bird seemed curious and just watched me for a while.

Adults in May or June have a more distinct rusty color plus the head is blue/green. Hence the name. It’s about the only green except for the young birds legs.
