On the edge of a swamp this young Little Blue Heron climbed up to look around.
I see them do this fairly often but always wonder about the wisdom of the move. They are still young, only medium size, and a good meal for an Eagle or large hawk.
Also once they get up there, what is there to see that a couple flaps of their wing wouldn’t get them?
Must be a reason, I see then stay up there for hours.
