When I shot these I knew the entire set would either have interesting sunlight or be boring black. The sun streaks through the overhead tree canopy and makes some nice effects.
The sun didn’t disappoint. You can see the different shades and colors of this swamp in the sun. Cypress and Tupelo trees leach tannin into the water making an almost oil sheen at times

I had come here because this area is where the Barred Owls nest and raise young. The swamp has plenty of Crawfish.
The Owls were gone but any swamp with food should have some hunter looking around.

This time it was a single White Ibis.

He did manage to catch a Crawfish. That image fell into the boring black category of course.
The ibis in these photos looks so lovely and clean!
Temporary I’m sure.
Wonderful images Ted! I particularly like the movement of the water in the top one, the swirling, and the colours make for a magical scene with this beautiful White Ibis.
Thank you. There are times of the year the larger swamps look like a rainbow.
