At one point I was wondering if they were coming down on top of us.
It turns out the wind over the roof made a great thermal. Almost every group coming up the beach turned and caught the breeze right over us.
Having that metal roof was a good thing, we were eating a dinner we had packed along.
In each of these photographs off in the distance you can see another flock coming to us. There were hundreds this evening.
Above you can see the line of Pelican coming up the shoreline.
Below is facing the opposite direction after they flew over.
We could see the path they were taking which helped later when taking a few sunset shots.

I have never seen pelicans flying like that. Beautiful, so beautiful!
We have both White and Brown Pelican. The habits of the Brown Pelican are very different from any other Pelican species.
