There was a pretty good supply of Pelicans on Thursday. While fishing they were broken up in groups, scattered over the open water in this marsh. These two fished on the dike side where I like to stand. They were fine with that so I stayed right there.

Using a monopod here I was able to shoot at a slow speed and high aperture for details. Monopods can be ‘clunky’ for in flight photographs but a day like this, constant shooting, the gear gets too heavy.
