I get to photograph the Common Gallinule, or Moorhen, almost any time. They are everywhere in marshes.
Not so much the Purple Gallinule though. More of a tropical version of the Moorhen.


When you find one, and catch it in the right light the colors almost hurt. As you can see above the male still has that vinyl looking red beak too.

This bird was too busy eating the flower buds of this marsh plant to think about us.
Amazing. I must look this bird up.
Beautiful birds. Like many that are darker getting to see the real colors requires light and reflections.
Fascinating
