We have hit a few winter low temperatures for the Lowcountry, even a bit of overnight frost. Out of all our local critters the White Ibis is one that prefers warm enough to head out south.

And yet, even the young ones are sticking it out.

This young bird, still not yet white, found other Ibis feeding near a boat launch. Immediately he changed course to join the others.

In a few months he will be pure white blending in with the others.
