This was an opportunity I don’t get very often, a Black-crowned Night Heron flying low over the water.
These birds have taken to nesting in the thickets in this swamp so standing on the waters edge among the Cypress is a good hide.

Their speed makes getting these birds in flight even more challenging. I’m usually shooting their feet as they zoom by 😂
