I find myself with a large number of Black-crowned photographs, too many and I can’t bring myself to delete some.
They are beautiful, and usually elusive birds, so here is another set of the smaller herons.
Below was shot as a bird jumped up to fly back to the rookery island. Fast birds so no long flight series unless I’m in the perfect spot. And how often does that happen.


This almost adult lands on this same group of sticks every time he leaves the safety of the island.


Last is one on a well photographed ramp. Easy to see how they are creatures of habit.
This is a very nice collection of Night Herons. I don’t see these birds often and would like to have a collection like yours 🙂
