When I have the chance with Pelicans I shoot way more photographs than I really should.

The first is a Brown Pelican sitting up on the top mast of a shrimp boat. Shrimpers have two large outriggers used to drag nets across the bottom when a bed of shrimp are found. In dock they are pulled upright making a perfect lookout for the birds.

When not resting all over the shrimp boats Pelicans float by the docks waiting for fishing boats to return to port with a catch. There are always some fish thrown over board and the Pelicans are extremely fast.
