One of our local Barred Owls, who I’m sure is feeling the loss of habitat around his hunting grounds.
You can’t go a day without seeing a new stretch of land being stripped and used for more housing, that many people can’t afford.

I can sense the forlorn nature of this owl’s experience, just by his “body language”. 🙁
He may also be tired… the female is on eggs in a hole nearby. And she is always hungry LOL.
Seriously though, the Charleston area is losing land even more than other places. The big plantation lands will soon be surrounded by developments. The pine forest behind my land will have houses not owls, it’s already started. Problem is, no place to go. Sad.
