Finally a Yellow-crown. I have not seen one in some time.
I have always assumed the Yellow-crowned Herons nested in the same places as other Herons. This bird, and a few others make me rethink that. We found them in some wooded areas, near, but not in an Egret / Heron rookery. Thinking of other nestings where I have found them, well none were in the traditional locations. All were wooded trees. š³

They are good at fitting into their surroundings for sure. Like Owls we probably walk past them all the time. š
