I was in a swamp this morning, no one but me. I noticed the Wood Ducks off by the nest box. Now, I never see the ducks by a box.
Looking back a minute later I saw the female, and ducklings. Where did they come from?
It took less than a minute for the box to empty, the little guys came charging out and jumping into the air.
I was pretty far and this morning was very dark. Timing is everything though. A minute one way or the other I would never have noticed.

I have never shot, or even seen this happen before. I had just been talking with another photographer. He walked away, I went down a path. All luck…

I agree 😁. I’ve never seen it before, read about it, but amazing 👍👍. Looked over and they were jumping right out to join the mother. The male on top of the box calling them. Very cool.
