Not everyone loves this bird. Aggressive and even dangerous to the other residents of the swamp. A South American native who has slowly migrated north. They do like to nest with others in rookeries.

The colors on both male and female are not unattractive. They do have a mating dance like others. The male makes odd sounds and acts like he is doing the ‘breast stroke’ swim with his wings. Funny to watch.
