I’ve written before how feeding the large Heron chicks can be dangerous for the adults. In these shots one of the parents wanted to be protective, but not even close to the little monsters.
I watch the adult fly in, circle, and then find a way to be there, but not.
This was funny, and driving the young birds crazy LOL.
The adults at this nest are at the point where they drop off food and fly away immediately. These were some of the first chicks of the rookery this year. They will be flying soon and based on this on their own.
Ha ha! This is a riot, Ted! I don’t blame them a bit. Their nagging cries are incessant and their aggressive beaks are even more risky the older and bigger they get!
They’re horrible 😵💫. I watched the Great Egret chicks do the same yesterday afternoon. The same 😳.
