A Tricolored Heron focused on catching minnows in this swamp. Probably too focused.

A moment after this, no image of course, the bird jumped high as an Alligator lunged from those thick plants in the background.

The Tricolor got lucky.

I can’t find any trace of the gator in this image but he was right there. The Alligators usually don’t even try to catch herons, unless it looks easy.
